Article of the Future

The Article of the Future project is our never-ending quest to explore better ways to create and deliver the formal published record

Objectives:

Prototypes developed with researchers

Since 2009 we have partnered with over 150 researchers, in various scientific disciplines, to conduct user interviews, behavioural studies, development discussions and testing. Resulting in consensus that discipline-specific article is needed – one size does not fit all! We have developed prototypes in seven scientific areas, each tailored to the needs of the relevant communities. Many of the content and context features (listed on the left) are already available in Elsevier published journals. The three pane view will be introduced on SciVerse ScienceDirect in October 2011 and January 2012.

Experience it now!

Experience the improved readability and enriched content you can expect once launched by immersing yourself in the prototype. (Select the research area you are most interested in from the list on the left hand bar)

Tell us what you think

As we want to continue to develop our Article of the Future project with you, please tell us what you think of the prototypes. What did you like the most? Is this the way you think we should develop the published article? Have you other suggestions? Leave feedback or complete our survey for the research area you are most interested in.
